- 18,420 units sold in August 2018, 14,340 units sold in August 2017
- 17,079 units sold in July 2017
- Exports increased from 3,082 units to 5,478 in August year on year
Tata Motors has regained the number 3 spot on the sales chart after it dispatched 18,420 units in August 2018 as compared to the 14,340 units it sold in August 2017. While the year on year growth for monthly sales is pegged at 28 per cent, cumulative numbers from April to August have gone up by almost 38 per cent.
Tata Motors sold 88,436 units in the past five months in 2018 as compared to the 64,131 units sold in the corresponding period in 2017. Also, the sales in August are higher as compared to July 2018 when the Indian carmaker sold 17,079 units. And this is despite rain and flood playing havoc in many areas across the country and damping the buying spirits.
Buoyed by the growth in spite of the challenges, Mayank Pareek, president Passenger Vehicle Business Unit said, “We are happy to report that the UV segment has performed exceptionally well, with a growth of 93%. This month also marked the milestone of the 50,000th Nexon rolling out of the Ranjangaon plant. The Nexon is one of the most loved and appreciated compact SUVs in the market today. We will continue to strive towards driving volumes and increasing our market share as part of our on-going turnaround journey.”
