Tata Motors’ newest offering, the Nexon subcompact SUV, has been launched in India at an introductory price range of Rs 5.85 lakhs to Rs 9.44 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). The stylish new vehicle from the Indian car manufacturer gets dual airbags, ABS with EBD, and multi-drive mode feature as standard. The Tata Nexon is available in four variants - XE, XM, XT, and the XZ+. Here below is a detailed list of features being offered in every variant –
Nexon XE
This is the base Nexon variant which gets modest features like halogen headlamps, LED taillamps and side body plastic cladding. The trim gets white accents along the foglamps, three-tone interior and premium fabric seat upholstery. Moreover, it gets 34 utility and storage spaces which include umbrella holder on the front door, bottle holder for all four doors, and a large glove box with utility moulding with holders for wallet, cups and tab. Power windows are limited to the front only. Nexon XE variant is available in petrol and diesel options and are priced at Rs 5,85,000 and Rs 6,85,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively.
Nexon XM
In addition to all the features from the XE variant, the XM variant of the Nexon gets all four power windows, electronically adjustable ORVMs and steering mounted controls for audio, telephony and voice command. The trim misses out on touchscreen infotainment system, however, it gets ConnectNext infotainment system by Harman with 4 speakers, USB, AUX-IN, Bluetooth and iPod connectivity. Additionally, the XM variant also gets remote central locking, centre antenna, dual tone steering wheel cover and park assist with rear sensors. The petrol Nexon XM variant is priced at Rs 6,49,900, while the diesel XM variant is priced at Rs 7,39,900 (both ex-showroom, Delhi).
Nexon XT
Moving one step ahead, you have the XT variant which in addition to all the features from the lower variants, offers roof rails, shark fin antenna, electrically foldable ORVMs and body coloured door handles and mirrors. For convenience, the Nexon XT variant gets fully automatic climate control, rear 12V power outlet and a cooled and illuminated glovebox. The petrol and diesel Nexon XT variants are priced at Rs 7,29,900 and Rs 8,14,900 (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively.
Nexon XZ+
If you prefer a fully loaded version, the top-spec Nexon XZ+ variant is the one for you. The top spec version gets projector headlamps, LED DRLs, shark fin antenna with GPS and 16-inch alloy wheels. The top-spec version is also available in an optional two-tone paint scheme. Inside, you get a 6.5-inch touchscreen dash-top infotainment system from Harman with Android Auto. The system also gets voice command recognition for phone, media, navigation, image and video playback. Moreover, you also get voice command for climate control. The top-spec version also gives out voice alerts for door open, seatbelt reminder, low fuel indicator, parking brake release, and service reminder. The Nexon XZ+ in petrol is priced at Rs 8,44,900/ Rs 8,59,900 (Dual-tone). The diesel XZ+ on the other hand is priced at Rs 9,29,900/ Rs 9,44,900 (Dual tone).
Under the hood, the Tata Nexon is powered by a 1.2-litre inline four cylinder petrol engine that produces 108bhp of power and 170Nm of the torque while the diesel version gets a 1.5-litre engine which generates 108bhp of power and 260Nm of torque. Both the engines come mated to a six-speed manual transmission as standard. The XM variant emerges as a good choice for customers who want decent amount of features and are running on a constrained budget. As for those who settle for nothing but the best, you have the top spec XZ+ variant.
