Tata Motors has revealed a few more details about its upcoming Nexon electric vehicle ahead of a 2020 launch. The latest nugget of information is that the battery pack will be offered with a segment first eight-year warranty. This is substantially higher than what even some conventional car manufacturers are offering.
The Lithium-ion battery pack is protected an IP67 level compatible system and will be liquid cooled as well as compatible with all fast charging systems. While the capacity of the battery pack has not been revealed, Tata has said that the driving range will be around 300kms.
They have also revealed that the car will be front wheel-drive and be powered by a permanent magnet AC motor. They have also revealed a picture of the electronic control unit and have said that it will be water cooled.
Tata has said that the Nexon EV will debut with over 30 connected car technologies along the lines of location based services as well car monitoring systems.
In the latest round of teaser videos, Tata has showcased the Nexon EV testing in multiple weather conditions and surfaces including a water wading test. The Tata Nexon EV is underpinned by the Indian automaker’s new Ziptron technology.
