Tata Motors has, today, rolled out the 100,000th unit of the Tata Nexon from its Ranjangaon facility. The Nexon has reached this milestone in less than 22 months since the compact SUV was first introduced in September 2017.
Tata Nexon is the first and only car to be manufactured in India to get a five-star safety rating from Global NCAP. It is also the second-most selling compact SUV in the country, behind the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. Besides the Vitara Brezza, the Nexon also competes against the Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300 and the Ford EcoSport.
Under the hood, the Nexon packs 108bhp 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol and 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engines. Transmission duties are carried out by a six-speed manual gearbox and an AMT. The compact SUV is priced between Rs 6.62 – 11.01 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).
The Nexon comes with Multi-Drive modes, floating touchscreen infotainment display, an eight-speaker JBL audio system and much more. Other features include automatic climate control with rear AC vents, keyless entry, triple-tone interiors, reverse camera, rear parking sensors and then some more.
