- Powered by a turbo petrol engine
Tata unveiled the CNG version of the Nexon last year at the first-ever Bharat Mobility Expo. Now, the brand has revealed the Red Dark edition at the recently held Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. The Nexon, as we know, is the first car in the fray to get a turbocharged CNG-compatible petrol engine. This engine produces 98bhp/170Nm and can be had with a six-speed manual gearbox.
What makes this Red Dark edition special is the carbon black color with red accents. Inside, the car features red leatherette upholstery, red stitching, and piano black interior trims. In terms of highlight features, the Nexon CNG Red Dark gets a 10.2-inch infotainment system with a digital instrument cluster, ventilated seats, wireless charging, air purifier, wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, 360-degree camera, panoramic sunroof, JBL branded 8 speaker audio system and bi-LED headlamps with welcome and goodbye sequence.
The Nexon CNG has a 60-litre tank and in our real-world mileage tests, we got 11.6km/kg for the city and 17.5km/kg for the highway giving us an average of 13km/kg. The Nexon CNG also gets twin-cylinder technology which is more space-efficient as opposed to having one large cylinder. The standard car has 392 litres of boot space while the Nexon CNG offers 328 litres which should be sufficient for most users.
