Edit: Tata Nano Twist with power steering launched for Rs 2.36 lakh
Nano Twist, the power steering variant of Tata has been spotted again, this time, sans any camouflage. It is expected to be launched at the National Center of Performing Arts (NCPA), Mumbai, on the January 13, 2014.
The electric power steering unit will be supplied by ZF Friedrichshafen. The system will use a brushless motor with an ‘Active return’ feature and has been specially developed for the Nano. The power steering will greatly aid the driver to navigate the hatchback in stop and go traffic, which forms the primary playground of the Nano.
The Nano Twist won’t have many cosmetic changes except for the new badging and the addition of a new colour- Damson Purple. Inside the instrument panel has been redesigned and now features LED fuel and temperature gauges. The digital trip meter and the clock have also been repositioned and an interface for the power steering system has also been included.
The Nano Twist will continue to use the existing two-pot 623cc petrol engine which pumps out 37bhp and 51Nm of torque. According to some reports, Tata has already started the dispatch of the Nano Twist to dealers. The Nano Twist is expected to be launched in two guises, the XC and XT and will be priced around Rs 15,000 more than the CX and LX variant.
