Tata seems to be in its final stages of testing the Nano Twist Active with a functional boot lid . Amidst the sightings of the camouflaged versions of the vehicle, an unregistered vehicle was spotted undisguised in Pune hinting that the Nano Twist Active might be launched soon.
Finally the undisguised vehicle lets out all the changes that can be seen in the production version. This Tata Nano Twist Active F-Tronic XTA variant seen in the picture will be the top-of-the-line version of the new facelifted Nano. The latest feature on the car is the openable boot lid which adds to the convenience of owners to access their luggage from outside. In the present Nano, the luggage area needs to be accessed by folding down the rear seat.
The other changes are the new rear bumper and spoiler at the back. This facelifted Nano will get redesigned front bumpers, smoked headlamp clusters and tweaked airdams. Changes to the interior include a new three-spoke steering wheel and better quality inserts for the center console.
The latest model of the Tata Nano Twist Active will be powered by the same 624cc twin-cylinder petrol motor that produces 38bhp of power and 51Nm of torque. This engine comes paired to a four-speed manual transmission and power is sent to the rear wheels. There are speculations that one of the Twist Active variants would use the four-speed manual transmission, while another variant named as the Twist F-Tronic will feature a five-speed automated manual transmission (AMT).
Tata Motors had exhibited this model as a pre-production concept at the 2014 Auto Expo. Knowing that the manufacturer is moving at a very fast pace when it comes to the launch of new vehicles for the Indian market, we can expect this new model of the Nano to be launched soon.
