The launch of the Tata Nano CNG a.k.a the ‘Nano emax’ is likely to happen on October 8 in Ahmedabad as reported by a dealer to indianautosblog.com. The images of both the variants LX and CX were also posted allowing us a better look.
Going by the images made available, not many changes have been made to the exterior of the CNG variant making it quite similar to the regular one. The only visible difference is the addition of ‘emax’ stickers to the rear and sides of the car. The major changes are on the inside with the presence of a fire-extinguisher, which is a standard fitment. Apparently the remarkable bright green colour on the instrument cluster focuses on the car’s low CO2 emissions. Both the LX and CX variants get new and refreshed interiors.
The CNG tank particularly built for the Nano is speculated to be manufactured in-house by Tata Motors. Reports suggest that there are two separate 4.0-litre tanks, each having a capacity of 5-6kg to hold CNG and are placed under the driver’s seat. So this variant should have a slightly high seating position as compared to the regular petrol variant.
The ‘emax’ if correctly priced will definitely have an edge over its competitor-the Alto 800 CNG. We had earlier reported no delay in the launch of this variant. The punctuality of this launch, especially during the festive season, should help Tata Motors garner more sales for this model.
