We recently showed you the new colour for the Tata Hexa through spyshots. Tata Motors has now released official images, revealing that it is a special variant of the SUV called the Downtown Urban edition.
So what's different from the standard vehicle? Apart from the new 'urban bronze' colour, the Hexa Downtown Urban Edition packs some more cosmetic updates and features in the cabin. It will be offered in two packages - Absolute and Indulge. Both these variants get chrome embellishments for the headlights, sides, ORVMs and tail lamps. There will be a Downtown badging and new side steps. In addition, it also gets a car care kit, new carpet set and wireless smartphone charging system as well.
Furthermore, the Absolute trim will get tan seat covers adding to the opulence. However, it’s the Indulge package which offers more features than the former. You can get 16-inch alloy wheels on the lower XE, XM and XMA variants. Meanwhile, the top-of-the-line XT and XTA trims benefit from Blaupunkt's 10.1-inch screens for rear passengers and a head-up display with a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System.
The upcoming limited edition will continue to be powered by the same 2.2-litre, four-cylinder diesel mill. It is available in two states of tune - 148bhp/320Nm and 154bhp/400Nm. The base variant comes mated to a five-speed manual transmission, while the XM and XT get an optional six-speed automatic gearbox. All-wheel drive is only available on the XT variant. We can expect Tata to announce the variant-wise prices soon.
