- Price hikes to range between 2 per cent and 2.2 per cent
- Will be applied to all cars from Nano to Hexa
- Price increase ranges from Rs 5,000 to Rs 35,000
Tata Motors has announced a hike in prices for its entire range of cars effective from August 2018. The price hike ranges between 2 to 2.2 per cent as a result of the continued rise in input costs. This hike is in addition to the 3 per cent price hike in April.
With input costs growing due to increasing commodity costs, Indian car manufacturers have announced a second price hike this year. Despite the hike in prices, Tata Motors is positive about maintaining their upward trend in car sales, with new age products like the Tiago and the Nexon contributing primarily to the volumes. Tata Motors had outperformed the market despite the previous price hike in April.
Prices of individual cars will increase from Rs 5,000 to Rs 35,000 depending upon the cars. As of now, Tata offers cars from the Rs 2.36 lakh Nano to the Rs 17.89 lakh Hexa including the Tiago, the Tigor, the Nexon, the Sumo and the Safari Storme.
