Tata Motors has slashed the price of its Indica and Manza range by up to Rs 50,000. However, in response to excise duty hike on SUVs in 2013 Union Budget, Tata is forced to hik the prices of the Safari, Aria and the Sumo by up to Rs 35,000.
The hatchbacks and Manza range have had their prices cut in the range of Rs 29,000 to Rs 50,000 depending on the model. The Tata Sumo’s price will be increased by Rs 7500 while the Aria and the Safari will see an increase of up to Rs 11,000 in their prices. However, the price of the Nano hatchback will continue to remain the same as before.
It seems that Tata has taken the step in a bid to increase sales of the Indica and the Manza range, which have fallen significantly in the last few months despite the introduction of new variants both in the Indica (Vista D90) and the Manza (Club Class) range.
