Tata Motors has announced a growth of 32 per cent by selling 9,176 passenger vehicles in May 2015. The company had sold 6,932 units in the same month in 2014.
Cumulative sales of all passenger vehicles in the domestic market for the fiscal are 21,368 units showing a hike of 28 per cent in comparison to last year's results. The passenger vehicles also recorded a year-on-year growth of 21 per cent with sales of 11,138 vehicles as against 9,230 units.
The overall sales report also shows a growth of five per cent with sales of 39,496 vehicles in May 2015. The company had sold 37,538 units in the corresponding period last year.
Tata's exports in May 2015 grew by 47 per cent with 4,678 vehicles sold overseas in comparison to 3,191 vehicles that they sold in May 2014. The cumulative sales from exports for the fiscal are at 8,464 units higher by four per cent over 8,124 units sold last year.
The substantial increase in sales of passenger vehicles is mainly due to the Zest, Bolt and early response to the GenX Nano. Tata Motors had aimed to revamp their brand image with the launch of new products for the Indian market and have tasted a fair bit of success till now. We hope the upcoming products will help the company boost its sales figures even further.
