The overall sales for Tata Motors for January 2014 stand at 40,481 units as compared to the 61,660 units sold in January 2013. This shows a decline in sales of 34 per cent. The domestic sales also shows a drop of 37 per cent for last month as 36,657 units were sold in contrast to 57,780 units sold in the same period last year. Exports fell by 1 per cent with 3,824 units being sold out of the country as against 3,880 units exported in January 2013.
The sales figures of passenger vehicles dropped by 28 per cent, with 10,974 cars being sold in January 2014 as against 15,209 vehicles sold in January 2013. The sales of cars like Nano, Indica and Indigo for the same period were 8,463 units, which show a decline of 24 per cent as compared to January 2013 sales of 11,192 units. In the last month 2,511 units of the Sumo, Safari, Aria and Venture range were sold exhibiting a drop of 37 per cent as 4,017 units were sold in January 2013.
The company’s cumulative sales which include the exports for the fiscal stood at 4,75,560 units. Cumulative sales of passenger vehicles were 1,14,490 units while for the cars like Nano, Indica, Indigo were at 88,400 units. The sales numbers for the Sumo, Safari, Aria, Venture range were 26,090 vehicles. Exports for the fiscal were 40,068 vehicles.
