Tata Motors sold 39,623 units including passenger and commercial vehicles in July 2014 when they had sold 51,549 cars in the same month last year. This shows a decline of 23 per cent in overall sales.
The manufacturer sold 35,256 vehicles in the country while 4,367 units were exported. The domestic sales accounted to 47,272 units in the same month last year while 4,277 vehicles were sold overseas. Though the domestic sales for July 2014 show a drop of 25 per cent, exports show a growth of two per cent.
The company's cumulative sales including exports for the fiscal are 1,49,597 units in comparison to 2,04,744 units the last fiscal. This again shows a 27 per cent decline. The cumulative sales from exports decreased by seven per cent as this fiscal only 14,594 units were exported as against 15,712 units last fiscal.
Tata Motors will launch their new compact sedan Zest this month which will be followed by the hatchback, Bolt. Both these cars have created a huge excitement ever since they were unveiled at the 2014 Auto Expo earlier this year. The company hopes the sales figures will improve with the launch of these cars in the Indian market.
