Tata Motors official sales figures for March show the company sold 12,640 units of passenger vehicles. In comparison they sold 12,347 units in March 2013 which translates into a growth of 2.3 per cent. If you compare the sales of February with March the sales are on an upward trend and show an increase of 15.3 per cent.
The company sold 45,996 units in March this year in comparison to the 72,712 units in March 2013; this includes sales of passenger and commercial vehicles. Passenger cars like the Tata Nano, Indica, and the Indigo range, collectively sold 9,761 units, whereas the Sumo, Safari, Aria and the Venture put together sold 2,879 units.
The Indian car major’s overall sales figure including exports this fiscal was reported as 566,695 units, of which, the cumulative sales of passenger vehicles stood at 1,38,455 units. The Nano, Indica and the Indigo range collectively sold 1,07,187 units and the Sumo, Safari, Aria and the Venture range did 31,268 units.
While we cannot see much action in the sales figures as of now, we expect that these numbers will change with the launch of the Tata Zest sedan and Bolt hatchback. The highly anticipated cars to be launched in mid 2014 will unquestionably see Tata Motors showing a much brighter sales report.
