Tata Motors has successfully reinvented itself in 2018 and the success reflects in the sales figures as the Indian car maker has registered a whopping 21 per cent growth in the sales from April to December in 2018 as compared to the previous year.
Tata Motors has sold 1,56,397 units in the nine months of the financial year 2018 as compared to the 129,229 units sold in the corresponding period in the year 2017. It sold 14,260 units in December 2018, marginally eclipsing the 14,180 units sold in December 2017 in the backdrop of the muted customer sentiment that has hit automotive sales in the past quarter.
Tata’s new generation of cars like the Tiago and the Nexon have managed to gain firm foothold in the challenging compact hatchback and compact SUV segment. In 2019, Tata will launch the much-awaited Land-Rover based Harrier SUV in the first half followed by the B-segment premium hatchback in the latter half of 2019 expanding Tata’s presence across the domestic market.
