Tata Motors has recorded strong growth in certain key segments in July 2015, with passenger car sales and exports growing by 27 and 16 per cent respectively. The total sales, meanwhile, including passenger and commercial vehicles stood at 40,154 vehicles in July 2015, growing by 1 per cent over 39,629 vehicles sold in July 2014.
The growth in passenger car sales was driven mainly by Tata’s new breed of cars like the Zest, the Bolt and the GenX Nano. The sales, in fact, in July 2015 were higher by 27 per cent at 8,520 units, compared to 6,703 units in July 2014.
As for exports, the company's sales from exports were 5,078 units, in July 2015, higher by 16 per cent compared to 4,363 vehicles in July 2014. Tata Motors is now busy preparing its newest small car for the Indian market – the Kite. The small car was recently spotted, interestingly with former Formula One racer Narain Karthikeyan behind the wheel.
