Tata Motors had a promising start to 2015 with a 19 per cent growth in domestic car sales for January. The Indian automaker sold 13,047 passenger cars, compared to 10,974 units sold during the same period last year.
Meanwhile, domestic sales of commercial and passenger vehicles for January 2015 were accounted at 38,621 units, marking a growth of 5 per cent over 36,657 units sold in January 2014.
Taking sales of the new Zest and the recently launched Bolt into account, the strong January 2015 performance hardly comes as a surprise. Having being conceived after years of development and extensive testing, both the Zest and the Bolt represent Tata’s new, highly advance portfolio of upcoming cars including the Kite – the much awaited replacement model for the Indica that is currently under development.
