Tata Motors chairman Cyrus Mistry appealed to employees to lift up their spirits to bring more competitive products in the market. Mistry, addressing the employees, pressed the need to bring these products soon and in a cost-effective manner.
According to sources, Mistry in his annual address to employees of Tata Motors, including overseas subsidiaries, also said "every function, right from design, purchasing, manufacturing to sales, will need to work hard and seamlessly to help us bounce back strongly."
"It is important that our cost-structure allows us to position ourselves competitively in the market and help us grow profitably on a sustained basis," he added.
He further emphasised the need to focus on quality and enhancing customer’s experience on buying a Tata car.
Tata Motors is facing a tough time in the changing market scenario, and this meeting with the employees would be to boost their spirit and to show the way ahead. The company lost a lot of market share to competitors due to lack of exciting products. However, they have two exciting products lined up to be launched this year, the Bolt hatchback and the Zest sedan. These cars will also feature a turbocharged petrol engine developed in-house by the company. Tata may have some plans for its upcoming cars of which the Nexon compact SUV concept shown at the Auto Expo could be the first to hit the market.
