Tata Motors will have a fresh range of vehicles up on display at the fast approaching Auto Expo 2016. The brand, in fact, will be looking to make an impact with a variety of body styles including a hatchback, a premium crossover, a compact SUV and a sedan.
First up is the long awaited Hexa which has been caught on test several times up till now. The Hexa is Tata’s second attempt at making a full-size crossover after the Aria. Design wise, the former features Tata’s signature mesh grille that will appear in their future cars as well. The Hexa will also come with projector headlights, a muscular bonnet, turn indicators for the wing mirrors and twin tail pipes.
Under the hood there will be a 2.2-litre, 4-cylinder, Varicor diesel engine that currently powers the Safari Storme Varicor 400. The engine develops 154bhp of power and 400Nm of torque and will come mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox with a 4WD option.
Next up is the Zica small car that will launch soon after its arrival at the Auto Expo. In terms of appearance, the Zica has sharp lines and a well-proportioned body and as for drivetrain options, there’s a pair of 3-cylinder engines – a 1.2-petrol and a 1-litre turbo-diesel engine. The all-aluminium three-cylinder 1199cc petrol engine produces 84bhp and 114Nm of torque while the diesel Zica is powered by a 1047cc diesel engine which produces 69bhp and 140Nm of torque.
While we have heard and seen plenty of the Hexa and the Zica, the lesser known compact sedan based on the latter will also be making a grand debut at the Auto Expo. Rumoured to be called the Sway, this new model will carry all the existing Tata attributes inducing a spacious cabin and an efficient engine range.
