Good news for all those people who wanted a big car at a low price. Tata Motors has launched the lower trim level of its recently launched longer wheelbase, Indigo XL. This trimmed version is named Indigo XL Classic.
Indigo XL classic is available in both Petrol and Diesel variants. The new petrol variant has the same 16V Twin Cam engine with 101ps as Indigo XL Grand Petrol and the new Diesel variant has the same DICOR engine with 70ps power as Indigo XL Grand Diesel. These versions are priced at Rs. 5.35 lakhs (Petrol) and Rs.6.15 lakhs (Diesel), ex-showroom Delhi.
In Classic version, features like wood trim interiors, new look AC fascia & instrument cluster, composite steering wheel, utility trays behind the seats, and a rear seat centre armrest with cup holders are kept similar to Grand. The rear seat still has the distinction of having the best rear seat inclination of 28.50 among all sedans and the best legroom. Also available are the rear AC console with separate control, a chiller tray in the glove box, and one touch power windows in the front and rear. The seats are now upholstered in premium fabric, and the front seats offer 6�?? way manual adjustment along with lumbar adjustment.
Exterior features such as the dual beam clear lens headlamps, sleek tail lamps, front fog lamps, chrome embellishments on the satin painted front grille, electrically operated outer rear view mirrors with blinkers are standard.
Some goodies which are available in the top end variant i.e. the Indigo XL Grand which you will not get with Classic are the Leather seats, electronically adjustable front seats, Bluetooth connectivity feature, alloy wheels and some other knick-knacks. This car has the rear leg room that matches that of a Skoda Superb. Even the Grand was good but now the Classic is more value for money. Such a big car at Rs.5.35 lakhs, well, what else can we get in that price?? Well done TATA.
