Tata Motors Global Group which includes Jaguar Land Rover, sold 83,951 vehicles in February 2015. This shows a five per cent boost in sales in comparison to the cars sold in the same month in 2014. However, the cumulative wholesale for the fiscal stood at 8,77,968 units less by 4 per cent than the previous fiscal.
The company sold 52,477 units of all kinds of passenger vehicles in February 2015, registering a three per cent increase in sales as against the figures of 2014. For the fiscal the numbers stood at 5,38,613 units showing a growth of four per cent over the last fiscal.
Coming to the global volumes of Tata Motor's passenger vehicles in February alone, the figures boosted by 18 per cent with 13,936 units delivered to customers. Nonetheless, with 1,22,227 units of cumulative sales for the fiscal, the manufacturer sees a decline of 8 per cent in comparison to the last fiscal.
Jaguar Land Rover's cumulative sales for the last month stood at 38,541 in comparison to the 39,011 units sold in February 2014. While Jaguar sold 6,448 vehicles in February 2015, Land Rover captured a major chunk of sales with 68,164 units sold in the same month. With 4,16,386 vehicles sold, the cumulative wholesales for Jaguar Land Rover for this fiscal are up by eight per cent than the last fiscal.
Tata Motors has its business across the globe that includes the sale of Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles as well. The manufacturer operates in UK, South Korea, Thailand, South Africa and Indonesia; and vehicles are marketed in various countries including Europe, Africa, the Middle East, South Asia, South East Asia, South America, CIS and Russia.
Over the years, Tata Motors has globally come up with new ventures with not only the passenger car segment but commercial vehicles as well. The auto maker has been striving to boost its overseas revenue and lower its dependence on the domestic economy. With many new subsidiaries overseas and new products to be offered in key markets, the company has built a stronger brand image and plans to expand its bandwidth in current and potential markets.
