Tata Motors Global Group, which includes Jaguar Land Rover, sold 1,03,952 vehicles in March this year. This shows a 9 per cent boost in sales in comparison to the cars sold in the corresponding period in 2014.
Jaguar Land Rover's cumulative sales for the last month stood at 50,093 units in comparison to the 43,311 units sold in March 2014. While Jaguar sold 8,332 vehicles in March 2015, Land Rover captured a major chunk of sales with 41,761 units sold in the same month. With 4,66,479 vehicles sold, the cumulative wholesales for Jaguar Land Rover for this fiscal is up by 9 per cent than the last fiscal.
Coming to the global volumes of Tata Motor's passenger vehicles in March alone, the figures boosted by 17 per cent with 15,373 units delivered to customers. Nonetheless, with 1,37,600 units of cumulative sales for the fiscal, the manufacturer sees a decline of 5 per cent in comparison to the last fiscal.
The group sold 65,466 units of passenger vehicles last month, showing a 16 per cent hike in sales as against the figures of 2014. For the fiscal the numbers stood at 604,079 units showing a growth of 5 per cent over the last fiscal. However, the cumulative wholesales for the fiscal stood at 9,81,920 units less by 3 per cent than the previous fiscal.
Tata Motors has its business in the UK, South Korea, Thailand, South Africa and Indonesia. This business includes the sale of Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles as well. The vehicles are marketed in various countries including Europe, Africa, the Middle East, South Asia, South East Asia, South America, CIS and Russia.
At present, the company plans to expand its bandwidth in these markets and lower its dependence on the domestic economy. The company also plans to enhance its brand image overseas, and with this aim has come up with new ventures in the passenger vehicle segment as well as commercial vehicles. They are setting up new subsidiaries globally and plan to offer new products in key markets in the coming years.
