Tata Motors seems to be moving at a brisk pace when it comes to the introduction of new vehicles to the automobile market in India. The Zest that was launched in August will soon be followed by the Bolt. The company also started testing their upcoming compact hatchback rumoured to be named Kite and recently, a test mule of the same was sighted in Pune.
The camouflaged test mule of the upcoming car shows a tall-boy design and we expect it to be based on an updated version of the Indica’s XO platform. It looks similar to the Bolt and might be placed in between the Nano and the Indica. Expected to be equipped with tantalising features, it will rival Maruti’s upcoming small car codenamed YRA.
The Kite is expected to borrow the powertrain from its current siblings; however, there are speculations that the manufacturer might add a new three-cylinder petrol and diesel mill option for this new car. It will take up nearly all of the installed capacity of 2,50,000 units at Tata's manufacturing facility in Sanand, Gujarat. If not in early 2015, we can expect Tata Motors to launch this vehicle in the second half of next year.
The company is making good efforts at changing their brand image in the Indian market with such new products and is also providing Indian customers what they are looking for.
