A heavily camouflaged prototype of the upcoming Tata Kite compact sedan was spotted testing in Tamil Nadu by one of Powerdrift’s fans. The only evident detail was the exposed fake tail lamp clusters and the TN37 trade plate.
The images clearly reveal the notchback-like sloping rear silhouette and an integrated spoiler on the boot. Earlier spy shots reveal that the car will have some resemblance to the MegaPixel concept. Inside it might get a white-backlit instrument cluster with a multi-information display and rectangular air vents.
The Kite might get a couple of 1.0-litre, three-pot petrol and diesel engines according to rumours. It might also get a 1.2-litre Revotron turbo petrol engine. Standard fare will be a five-speed manual gearbox which might also get the AMT as optional.
Expect the Kite hatchback and compact sedan to be introduced at the 2016 Auto Expo. These two products will lead the charge of Tata’s upcoming products in the Indian market.
