Tata, it seems, is on a bid to refresh all the cars in its line-up. We already know that the Nano facelift will be unveiled sometime next week that will be followed Indigo eCS facelift. Now, thanks to some spy pictures from team-bhp, we also know that Indian automaker’s work horse-the Indica eV2 is also getting refresh.
The facelifted Indica eV2 get a new grille, redesigned front bumper as well as change in the design of the headlights. Since most of the Tata vehicles have a similar face, we expect that the Indica eV2 will share much of its design change with the indigo eCS and this means chrome inserts for the fog lamps and refreshed alloy wheels on the higher spec variants. There might also be a large chrome strip across the base of the rear hatch; however it is unlikely to get the smoked projector headlamps from the sedan.
The interior upgrades are expected to include chrome finish in place of the faux wood and some bits from the larger Vista D90 in a bid to give the higher spec variants a more upmarket feel. However, since the eV2 is a popular vehicle among the fleet market, we expect that the lower spec variants will retain the same interiors to keep the cost down. The facelifted Indica eV2 is expected to continue with the 1.4-litre diesel mill that produces 69bhp and 140Nm of torque.
Tata is currently facing one of its worst slumps and has seen its sales slide down the scale significantly. It is believed that Tata is banking on the facelifted vehicle line-up that includes the Nano, Indigo eCS and the Sumo Gold to revive its sales.
