Shown first at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, the Tata Hexa could arrive in the Indian market later this year. According to a recent report by Overdrive, the Aria-based crossover model will hit the showrooms by the end of the year.
The Hexa is first of the new breed of SUVs and crossovers currently under development by Tata. The concept shown at Geneva measures 4,764mm in length, 1,895mm in width and 1,780mm in height. The vehicle has a rather long wheelbase of 2,850mm.
Inside, the concept featured a six-seat configuration with captain seats in the middle. The cabin also features LED illumination for ambient mood lighting. On the safety front, Tata is expected to offer up to six airbags.
The Hexa could be powered by a 2.2-litre, 4-cylinder, VARICOR diesel engine developing 154bhp of power and 400Nm of torque. The engine will come mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox with a 4WD option.
The Hexa could serve as a fitting replacement to the Aria that has always had bit of a struggle in the market place. Tata, indeed, would be hoping to do much better with the forthcoming Hexa crossover.
