- Showcased at the 2024 Bharat Mobility Expo
- Could spawn a Safari EV
Tata showcased the Harrier EV, across two motor shows, giving us a glimpse of what it has planned in the electric age for its flagship five-seat SUV. And now, Tata has confirmed that it will be officially launched this financial year.
We got our first glimpse of the EV at the 2023 Auto Expo, while the second iteration shown at the 2024 Bharat Mobility Show was in line with the facelift for the Harrier that had come in October 2023. The concept car was sporting most of the updates such as the seats, screens, and even the design of the wheels as well as the shape of the rear roof line. It’s expected to share its powertrain options with Curvv EV but could have a higher output due to it being the more expensive car.
We also believe that the Harrier EV will spawn a Safari EV, the logical step forward in terms of having multiple options in a rapidly expanding EV segment. When launched, it is expected to take on cars such as the Maruti eVX and the Toyota Urban Sport but also electric cars from Mahindra, Hyundai, and Honda.
