Tata Motors has commenced bookings for the Harrier SUV for a token amount of Rs 30,000. The much awaited SUV is expected to be introduced in the Indian market sometime early in 2019. The vehicle is based on the OMEGA (Optimal Modular Efficient Global Advanced) platform, which is derived from the Land Rover D8 architecture.
The Harrier will be the first product to sport the Impact 2.0 Design language from Tata Motors. The five-seat monocoque SUV will be offered with extraordinary exteriors, intelligently designed luxurious interiors, future-ready connectivity and infotainment. Under the hood, the soon to launch Tata Harrier will be powered by a 2.0-litre KRYOTEC diesel engine, sourced from Fiat. It is believed that the new model will use Multi Drive Modes with the Terrain Response Modes of the ESP. The engine will also offer a low friction valve train and an advanced EGR for better fuel efficiency which will also meet future emission norms.
