- Sixth Tata car to get a five-star BNCAP rating
Tata has achieved yet another milestone by getting a five-star rating for its Curvv coupe SUV. The car achieved a total score of 29.50/32 for adult occupant protection and 43.66/49 for child occupant protection. The tested powertrains include diesel MT, petrol DCT and petrol MT.
In the tests, the driver’s side scored Good for the head neck and lower body while scoring adequate for the right calf and marginal for the left calf. For the front passenger, it scored Good for the head, neck and lower body while scoring adequate for both calves. The total scores came to 14.65/16 for the frontal offset deformable barrier test and 14.85/16 for the side moveable deformable barrier test. In terms of child occupants, 12/12 for the CRS score and 9/13 for the vehicle assessment score.
As a part of the safety package, all versions of the Tata Curvv get six airbags, ISOFIX child seat mounting points, ESC, seatbelt reminder and pedestrian protection as standard. Launched in India on 7 August 2024, The Curvv is Tata’s rival to cars like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Vitara and the Toyota Hyryder. It can be had with petrol, and diesel and even has an EV version.
