Update: Tata Motors has confirmed that the Curvv will be launched on 7 August. It remains to be seen if both, the ICE and EV versions are launched on the same date.
- EV to be launched during the upcoming festive season
- ICE version to be launched next year
Tata Motors has started teasing the upcoming Curvv siblings through new videos and images. In the latest teaser, both cars can be seen being tested together under camouflage and in extreme conditions.
This is the first official teaser of the Curvv EV and its ICE version pictured together after announcing their imminent launch in India. The EV will debut first in the second half of this year, followed by its ICE sibling early next year. The new teaser shows both these coupe SUVs being tested in harsh conditions in Thar Desert, Rajasthan. Here, the cars are being tested on some sandy patches in the intense heat, showing their capabilities off the road. Notably, the new Acti.ev architecture is a dedicated platform for EVs to support front-wheel, rear-wheel, and even all-wheel drive configurations.
Tata Motors has yet to confirm the specifications of both cars. However, the design won’t deviate much from what we saw with the concepts. While the Curvv EV could boast 500km of driving range, the ICE version offered in turbocharged petrol and diesel engines will take on the hot-selling cars in the compact SUV segment.
