We have spied the Tata Bolt many times in the past while being tested out on the roads. The car has been spotted again, this time in South India, with these images clearly showing an orange dashboard.
The Tata Bolt premiered at the 2014 Auto Expo along with the Tata Zest compact sedan. It is the B plus segment hatchback car from the company, is based on their X1 platform.. However, the Bolt gets a complete change in overall design philosophy and features. It boasts of an aggressive fascia which gets a honeycomb grille, new headlights and bumper. Coming to the rear of the vehicle, a wide chrome grille and stylish LED headlamps can be seen.
These spy pictures show the orange colour dashboard, which we think will be offered in the top-end variant of the Bolt. Apart from this new feature, the cabin is equipped with premium interior, electric power steering in place of the Vista's hydraulic unit, modern center console, infotainment system and will house a new audio system that features MapMyIndia GPS, touch screen and voice commands.
The petrol variant of the Tata Bolt hatchback is powered by the 1.2-litre Revotron turbo petrol engine, which can churn out 84bhp of power at 5000 rpm and 140Nm of torque at 1750-3500 rpm, the diesel model of the car is powered by a 1.3-litre Multijet diesel mill. The five-speed manual transmission will be standard while Tata might equip one of the variants with the AMT gearbox.
The Zest is on sale now while the Bolt is expected to go on sale in the domestic market around the festival season this year. Both these latest offerings from Tata have been in the news since their appearance at the Auto Expo 2014 in February. From launching exclusive websites to promotion through social media, the company is leaving no stone unturned in promoting the upcoming cars.
