The new upcoming hatchback from Tata Motors, the Bolt, was spotted testing again, this time in Bangalore. The Bolt and the Zest compact sedan, have been spotted testing many times earlier. This time we have a picture of the interiors of the Bolt as well.
Tata might be making some last minute changes to the production version of the Bolt considering the components are mismatched. The standard rims give you an impression that this test mule might be an entry-level variant. But the cabin boasts of an infotainment screen and power windows making one believe that this might be the top-end variant. Any which ways, since this is a test mule, it would be too early to comment if this test vehicle is a top-spec or an entry-level variant.
The camouflaged Tata Bolt gets clear lens headlamps sans the projectors. The grille has a single horizontal chrome slat. The makeshift tail lamps have been temporarily fitted to make it road legal. We expect the conventional tail lights to be carried over to the production version of the car as well. The absence of the rear wiper again gives us hints that this must be one of the entry-level variants of the hatchback.
Tata will sell the Bolt in the Indian market in both engine options- petrol as well as diesel. The petrol variant will be powered by the 1.2-litre Revotron turbocharged engine that churns out 84bhp of power and 140Nm of torque. The oil-burner will be powered by the 1.3-litre Multijet mill sourced from Fiat, which might be further tuned by Tata. This test vehicle gets the manual transmission which is expected to be seen in all the versions. Tata might equip one of the top-end petrol versions with the AMT (automated manual transmission).
Tata Motors have been continuously testing both, the hatchback- Bolt and the compact sedan- Zest, in our country. The cars have been seen testing overseas as well on a few occasions. With so many continuous tests being conducted, we think the manufacturer might launch the two cars soon in India.
