- Expected to arrive in EV guise
- Could be launched in 2026
The idea
At the 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo, Tata unveiled its ultra-luxury concept's next evolution and dubbed it the Avinya X. It’s close(er) to being production-ready and is expected to reach the market in 2026. The Avinya is Tata’s ultra-luxury foray and will leap into a price segment far above what Tata plays in right now.
Design highlights
The major change for the Avinya is that it has moved from its sleep coupe-like appearance to a more crossover-like appearance, something that we expected from Tata regarding the Avinya’s evolution process. Highlights of the silhouette include the high stance, large wheels, pop-out door handles, and wrap-around headlamps and tail lamps. The rear is surprisingly minimal, with a connected tail lamp and gloss black bumpers.
The interiors were under lock and key, but a glimpse from the window shows a three-screen display on the dashboard and a massive fourth screen, which is free-standing but mounted lower. Other highlights include a two-spoke steering wheel and a large centre console. Some of the major features include V2L and V2V, a panoramic sunroof, a wireless phone charger, level-2 ADAS, and multi-zone climate control.
It’s expected to use JLR’s EMA platform and have at least 500km of range. Of course, it will offer both RWD and AWD. This is expected to be an EV only, but given everyone's approach to India, it could also get at least one ICE version.
