- Priced at Rs. 9.49 lakh
- Offered only with a manual gearbox
Tata Motors recently launched a new performance hatchback in the market called the Altroz Racer. The Hyundai i20 N Line rival is offered in three variants – R1, R2, and R3, at a starting ex-showroom price of Rs. 9.49 lakh. Now, post its launch, the entry-level R1 variant has started reaching dealerships across the country.
Feature-wise, the automaker has bundled most of the tech with the entry-level variant. The R1 variant comes loaded with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment, four-inch instrument cluster, push start/stop button, leatherette seats, eight speakers, rear wiper with washer, automatic climate control, and cruise control. Also on offer are six airbags, front fog lamps, rain-sensing wipers, auto headlamps, height-adjustable driver seat, and all four power windows.
However, the base-spec R1 variant misses out on some features which the higher variants come equipped with. This includes a larger digital instrument cluster, wireless charger, electric sunroof, 360-degree surround camera, blind spot monitor, air purifier, and ventilated front seats.
Mechanically, all the variants come equipped with the same 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. This motor is tuned to generate 118bhp and 170Nm of peak torque. In this state of tune, the Altroz Racer is claimed to accelerate from zero to 100kmph in 11.3 seconds.
