-EV debuts design for standard hatchback
-Will be officially unveiled later today as one of the four Tata concept cars for the show
The Tata Altroz has been unveiled in EV guise ahead of its official debut at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. This electric vehicle showcases the design that the standard hatchback will get when it is launched in India later this year.
Highlights of the Altroz’s design language include large wheels, floating roofline, pillar mounted rear door handles as well as the design of the tail lamps and headlamps. There is a sense of familiarity in the design and you can see this as an evolution of the Tata design philosophy from the Tiago as well as the Tigor compact sedan.
This car is an EV and sources suggest that this vehicle is about two years away from a market debut. However, the standard car will make its official debut later this year and will take on the likes of the Maruti Baleno, Honda Jazz, Volkswagen Polo and the Hyundai Elite i20. The standard hatchback and this EV are both underpinned by Tata’s Alfa platform.
The Altroz will debut at the motor show later today alongside the Tata H7X and Hornbill SUV. Tata is likely to release more details about the hatchback later today.
