With the Nexon successfully finding a solid footing in the fast growing compact SUV market, Tata Motors has added the XZ trim to the Nexon line-up, to sit below the existing XZ Plus trim. Offered with both the petrol and diesel engine options, the variants are priced at Rs 7.99 lakhs and Rs 8.99 lakhs, respectively, ex-showroom Delhi.
The XZ comes fully loaded with the Harmann floating touchscreen display on the dash. This sytem comes replete with Android Auto and voice command functions for telephony, music, navigation as well as climate control. You also have audio readouts for text messages and Whatsapp along with the voice activated reply function. This infotainment system also plays images and videos on the screen but only when stationary to ensure safety.
Apart from the tech features, the car comes with height adjustable driver seat, auto-dimming interior rear view mirror and fabric inserts on the door panel for that premium feel. The Nexon XZ gets projector headlamps for improved visibility along with reverse camera for parking assistance. With the addition of the XZ trim, the Nexon is now offered in five trims starting from XE, XM, XT, XZ and XZ Plus with the last one being the top-spec and the one that is offered with dual-tone paint schemes.
Tata Motors has already showcased the Nexon AMT and like the Hexa, we think they might offer it on the XM and XT trims to keep the price tag in check with the XZ-based automatic coming later as per demand.
