Tata Motors had earlier announced their sub-brand Tamo, under which they will launch many new products. Today at the Geneva Motor Show, the carmaker has unveiled the Racemo, which is the name of the new sports car under the Tamo brand. Check out the pictures of the much-awaited two-seater mid-engine sports car, which is set to arrive in India this year.
The Racemo by Tamo is Tata Motors' first ever sports coupe. It is designed around Tata’s latest Impact design language.
The car has an aggressive stance with an aggressive nose and dynamic front bumper with large air dams. The fascia sports sleek Bi-LED headlamps.
The main highlight on the car are the doors, which open in a dihedral fashion. The Racemo rides on huge alloy wheels finished in black.
Coming around to the back, you will notice that the vehicle features round LED tail lamps and a diffuser. Then, there is a centrally-mounted exhaust and an engine cover with intake holes.
The cabin of the Tamo Racemo gets a simple and functional, racecar-derived interior. Three large displays in the instrument area find major prominence.
These screens feature advanced navigation, predictive maintenance, remote monitoring and over-the-air updates using Microsoft cloud-based technologies.
And as we have seen supercars featuring many controls on the steering wheel, the Racemo also gets most of the functions integrated on the steering wheel.
The Tamo Racemo comes powered by a turbocharged 1.2-litre Revotron mill churning out 190bhp at 6,500rpm and 210Nm of torque at 2,500rpm.
This power is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed AMT gearbox with push button reverse and paddle shifters.
The Racemo is capable of doing the 0-100kmph sprint in under six seconds, thanks to the overall light kerb weight.
