The Swift hatchback fans have been eagerly waiting to catch a glimpse of new-gen model for quite some time now. Putting an end to it, Suzuki will unveil the production ready model on December 27, 2016. The most recent leak shows only the front fascia, while most section of the vehicle is yet to be seen.
The 2017 Suzuki Swift hatchback gets a smooth flowing exterior with a large hexagonal grille with a dash of chrome. The vehicle sports new headlamps and diamond cut styled alloy wheels. Though the vehicle appeals to be similarly sized as the current model, the new upcoming model is stated to be lighter by 15 per cent. Additionally, Suzuki claims that the rigidity has been improved by 10 per cent in comparison to the earlier platform.
Mechanically, the India-bound 2017 Swift will continue to be powered by the existing 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.3-litre diesel engine. Based on the Baleno platform, the new Swift might also get a much talked about 1.0-litre BoosterJet turbo-petrol engine which will be offered in the upcoming Baleno RS which is likely to launch in first quarter of next year.
Speaking about the interior, the vehicle might get a revised steering wheel and new sporty instrument cluster. As for top spec-version, it will get a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and MirrorLink compatibility. In terms of safety, depending on the variant, the vehicle will be offered with features such dual airbags, ABS, rear parking camera/sensors, all power windows and more. As for the pricing aspect, the vehicle might be priced around a similar range.
