Suzuki is all set to unveil a prototype car at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show which will preview a number of features of the company’s upcoming mini SUV. Dubbed the iV-4 concept, the prototype will indicate the company’s design approach towards their future models.
Little information is available about the mini SUV though the model is likely to inherit the clam-shell bonnet and the five-bar front grille which featured on the XA-Alpha concept. The concept is also likely to spawn a new model that might replace the Gypsy when it arrives in the Indian market.
From an Indian market perspective, the mini SUV will rival the Ecosport and will be Maruti-Suzuki’s solution for re-capturing the market lost on the Dzire by the arrival of the Ecosport. With the imminent arrival of the SX4 S-Cross along with the new mini SUV, Maruti will have two models in the price bracket of Rs 6-10 lakh in a segment that is turning out to be the most competitive market in the Indian auto industry.
