The Swift Sport has been the performance flagship of the Swift model range as it is more driver involving than the standard Swift. The new Swift Sport has the same DNA as its predecessor. To befit its status as the new performance flagship of the Swift model range, Suzuki will introduce the Swift Sport.
The new Swift Sport gets the M16A engine, which is based on that of the previous model and now offers more power combined with lower emissions. Thanks to the addition of a variable intake system, optimisation of the intake VVT (Variable Valve Timing) and increased valve lift, maximum output is up from 123bhp to 136hp with the new model. Maximum torque is up from 148Nm to 160Nm at a slightly lower engine speed of 4,400rpm. Suzuki claims that the new Sport does a 0-100kmph in 8.7 seconds. The 6-speed manual transmission comes as a standard fitment of the new Sport.
This new Swift Sport will be up on sale from January 2012 in Europe.
