Suzuki has launched a special edition of the Swift called the X-TRA in Germany. This is the second special edition for the German market after the Swift X-ITE was launched last year. The changes to the popular five-door hatchback are entirely cosmetic both inside and outside.
On the outside, the special edition has been painted in a Bison Brown metallic paint and fitted with special 16-inch alloy-wheels. The car also gets seven airbags, tinted windows, USB compatible CD-player with steering mounted audio controls and an AC with a pollen filter.
The engine for the Germany special car is the 1.2-litre petrol producing 94bhp and around 120Nm of torque. Except for the airbags most of the features are standard on the top-end India-spec Swift. However, since the Indian car market has always had an affinity for special editions this car might actually do quite well here, provided it is launched in a diesel variant also. The Swift X-TRA is on sale in Germany for 14290 Euros before taxes (Rs 10.18 lakh).
