It’s the festival season and it seems every manufacturer wants to bring something new to the table, even the ones leading the industry in numbers. Yes, we are talking about Maruti Suzuki and the car is none other than their hot selling hatchback, the Swift facelift. It has been spotted during what appears to be a shoot for its TV commercial.
The facelifted Swift hatchback has been spotted on multiple occasions (all of which appear to be at the Indo-Japanese automaker’s stock yard) and gets cosmetic and feature based upgrades. It is also possible that Maruti Suzuki will offer a whole host of dealer level fitments for the Swift when it is launched.
New features include: redesigned alloy wheels (and wheel covers), button start and redesigned fog lamp housing. There is also a possibility that Maruti Suzuki may include a blower for the rear seats. However, one of the most major additions for the car which is expected to arrive in 2015 will be an automatic gearbox which is expected to be the four-speed unit from the Dzire and Ciaz.
The engine options will continue from the current car which means the 1.2-litre K-Series four pot motor and the 1.3-litre Multijet diesel. Both engines are currently only offered with a five-speed MT.
Coming back to the TV shoot, it appears that the car in question has been fitted with a roll-cage and is using a plate under the rear wheels to slide the car around. Given the Swift’s sporty credentials, we expect the ad to show a lot of hot hatchback(ish) stunts.
The Maruti Suzuki Swift is a B+segment hatchback that competes with the Hyundai Grandi10 and the Ford Figo.
