Three concept cars based on the Suzuki's slogan ‘Small cars for a big future’ , the Crosshiker, X-Lander and the Hustler were revealed at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show. Suzuki’s exclusively designed stand at the show exhibits these three vehicles out of which Crosshiker and X-lander are crossovers and Hustler is a mini sports wagon.
The Crosshiker is based on the Regina concept car showcased in 2011. The newly designed two-door car is as light as 810kg and is powered by a 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine. The X-lander, another crossover from Suzuki, has undergone a lot of weight reduction. It, however, has been designed keeping in mind the fact that buyers can use it in the city and occasionally take it out on the rough terrains as well. Equipped with a highly efficient powertrain the four-wheel-drive vehicle is powered by a 1.3-litre engine mated to a manual transmission.
The Hustler is a mini-car which acquires the design cues from the larger SUVs, which means the car is expected to be of small size but still offers good space. The boxy design with square edges elaborates the same. There are two versions of the concept car, the second one being a coupe having a sloping roof line and forward leaning rear window. Suzuki has not revealed any specifications about the engine powering this one.
