Suzuki may preview the next-generation Swift Sport concept at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show. Reports suggest it has been designed to preview the next generation of the Japanese automaker’s popular hatchback.
This Sport concept car is expected to have a rally-style body kit, big wheels and most importantly a hybrid unit that will comprise a 1.4-litre petrol engine and an electric motor. It is also believed that the car will have a unique AWD system to improve handling.
We believe that the car will bear a strong resemblance to the Baleno hatchback and grown, similar to what we have seen with the Hyundai Grand i10 and Elite i20. Further, whatever design it previews will also apply to the next generation Dzire compact sedan.
Given the Swift’s importance in the Indian context, we can surely expect the concept car at the 2016 Auto Expo and India to be one of the first few markets to get the new car when it is launched.
