Suzuki has announced that it will launch a special edition of the Swift Sport called the SZ-R for the UK market. The hatchback will have a limited production of 100 units and has changes from the standard Swift Sport that fully cosmetic in nature.
The outside of the Swift Sport SZ-R has been painted in a shade called ‘Cosmic Black’. It also has a contrast coloured roof, OVRMs as well as a rear spoiler. Also included in the external changes are special 17inch alloy wheels and HID projector headlamps.
The interiors contrast red stitching on the upholstery and steering wheel, red accented gear knob, floor mats and door sills that have the (unique) vehicle number written on them. The Swift Sport SZ-R will be powered by the same 1.6-litre petrol mill that sits in the regular Swift Sport. It produces 134bhp and 160Nm of torque and is capable of pushing the car from 0-100 in 8.7 seconds. The top speed is 195kmph.
Only 100 units will be produced and will go on sale from March 1 for 14, 249 Pounds sterling (Rs 11.63 Lakh) which is just 500 Pounds sterling (Rs 41,000) more than the regular Swift Sport. This car or any of the other limited edition Swifts are not likely to make its way to our shores anytime soon as Maruti is known to launch limited editions for a model only if its sales have dropped significantly.
