Suzuki has launched a five-door version of the Swift Sport for the UK market. This follows hot on the heels of the Swift 4X4 that was launched in the UK yesterday and is in line with an announcement that the Japanese automaker made recently with regard its future plans for its popular hatchback.
The five-door Swift Sport is powered by the same 1.6-litre petrol mill that sits in its three door sibling. It produces 138PS and 160Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox. Changes to this model include twin chrome exhausts and with four new shades.
The five-door Swift Sport has been priced at 14, 249 GBP (Rs 12.73 lakh) which is basically 500 GBP (Rs 44, 686) higher than the three-door model. Even though we have seen two limited edition Swifts here in India over the last three months, it is unlikely that we will ever get to see this vehicle in India, chiefly because it will be too expensive as compared to the other cars in its segment.
