The Suzuki iK-2 hatchback and iM-4 compact SUV have been teased ahead of their debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, slated to begin from March 3. The iK-2, is as we know and have seen on multiple occasions, the YRA hatchback, while the iM-4 is the YRB compact SUV which has already been spotted testing in India.
First, the iK-2. Codenamed, the YRA, it’s a 4.0-metre plus hatchback that will slot in above the popular Swift. It carries a similar external and internal design as the Swift but will be a more premium vehicle. It is expected to be offered with the SX4 S-Cross’ engine and gearbox options.
The iM-4 compact SUV looks like a smaller version of the Vitara that was unveiled at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. It is expected to share much of its underpinnings with the Swift/Dzire/Ertiga and for the Indian market is likely to be a sub four-metre model. It is expected to share its engines and gearbox options with the Ciaz.
We believe that iM-4 will be launched first in India before making a European debut while the iK-2 is expected to be launched by the end of the year and may just revive the Baleno moniker.
