Suzuki has unveiled the Ignis compact crossover at the Tokyo Motor Show. The new model is expected to be launched in India soon to rival the Ford EcoSport in the sub-four metre segment. Here are a few exclusive photos of the Ignis from the ongoing event in Japan.
The Ignis looks like an extra-large hatchback and a premium one with blacked out pillar, projector headlamps and LED daytime running lamps.
The design is interesting with the large headlamps and wrap around mesh grille. The face shows some aggression that goes well with the squat stance.
The tail lamp console has LEDs, while the bumper has black elements to add some grace. Despite these, the Ignis does not look too great from the rear.
The rear three quarter, however, looks interesting. The C-Pillar is thick and has sharp angles. It also adds some visual bulk and makes the car look bigger.
The interior is different from the Maruti Suzuki cars in India. The dashboard is dual tone with rectangular elements and the infotainment system looks like a bolt on tablet.
Rest of the interior is black but the quality seems to be a notch higher. The space at the rear also looks adequate considering this is a sub-four metre car.
