Following its successful launch in the Indian market, the new Ignis has arrived in Indonesia. The locally made hatchback, in fact, is expected to be launched by April as the Suzuki Ignis.
For the Indian market, Maruti Suzuki is offering the Ignis in both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol version is powered by a 1.2-litre K-Series engine that generates 82bhp of power and 113Nm of torque, while the diesel version is powered by a 1.3-litre DDiS engine which generates 74bhp of power and 190Nm of torque. The Ignis also gets AMT option in both fuel types. However, for Indonesia there’s one engine option in the form of the 1.2-litre petrol unit which makes similar power and torque.
Suzuki will sell the Ignis in three trim levels, including one with the AMT gearbox. Like the India-spec model, the vehicle will get plenty of customisation and exterior styling options. What’s more, the model also gets Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Suzuki will launch the Ignis as their challenger for the hotly contested small hatchback segment in Indonesia. The car will compete with the likes of Honda Brio and Mitsubishi Mirage.
